PROJECT DESCRIPTION
PEO Missiles and Space is the Program Executive Office division of the U.S. Army that provides centralized management for Army Air and Missile Defense and Tactical Missile
Programs. The project is within the secure confines of the Redstone Arsenal. Powers Brown
Architecture was responsible for the base building design as well as the tenant design and
build out. In order to meet the project schedule, the 160,000 sf space was designed, permitted
and constructed in a 9 month period.
The complexities of the SCIF areas, conference center, fitness center and technical spaces required detailed coordination between the architectural and MEP engineering team to ensure the requirements were met. Two separate command suites anchor the upper floors with nearby open office workstations housing the majority of the staff. Classified conference rooms and SCIF work areas are distributed throughout the space.
