Project description

ARM energy is a rapidly growing company servicing the energy sector and was quickly outgrowing their current space. After interviewing with several design firms, Powers Brown Architects was selected to partner with Lead Construction to provide design/ build solutions to develop and design for their expanded staff and programming requirements. The primary goals for ARM were to incorporate natural lighting, views to the outside, additional conferencing and training, and provide areas for collaboration and health and wellness. Powers Brown provided up front 3 dimensional renderings and a rendered fly thru with cost modeling to help ARM determine effective construction budgets as well as visual tools of what the space would look like.

The design team was able to meet and exceed their expectations by connecting the fourth and fifth floors with a carefully designed monument stair that included areas for group gatherings as well as semi-private areas that are equally useful for catching up on lunch time reading or small informal meetings. The build out included eleven new conference rooms taking advantage of the corners of the building to allow for views and natural lighting, white boards in all offices and conference rooms allow for additional collaboration. Open office workstations were placed near exterior windows and glass office fronts allow all employees equal access to daylight views and was supplemented with dimmable direct / indirect lighting throughout the office. To further promote health and wellness, a 2,980 sf fitness center was designed for employee access and include locker rooms and showers. A recreation area was provided to allow employees to mentally destress while playing a game or entertaining clients.
